Zara Meacham
Company Secretary & Dance Coach
Zara moved to Chelmsford in 1992 shortly after the sudden and tragic loss of her father, and in an attempt to start rebuilding both her and her mother’s life, they both took Ballroom and Latin American classes with one of the late great names associated with dancing in Chelmsford for many years, Mr Frank Clark.
She went along to accompany her mother, and was quickly captivated by the styles, taking part in amateur examinations right up to Gold Bar with the Imperial Society.
Wanting to explore technique and high-grade styling in more depth, Zara left working within the cut and thrust of the Stock Exchange and turned professional and joined the Chelmsford Dance Centre as a Student Teacher on, ironically, April Fool’s Day 1997.
After a whirlwind romance of just 10 days, Zara became engaged to our principal Phil in October of that year, and they were married the following summer.
Zara teaches all grades, from beginners to professionals, and balances the work with being a mum to her and Phil’s two children.
Zara is available to teach up to all exam and competitive grades.
